Sony is finally on level ground with Microsoft as far as making me want to play their games.
The new PS3 v2.40 firmware is out, and it brings with it in-game Xross Media Bar (I still think the X there looks dumb) and trophies. Trophies are achievements, pretty much, but they seem to be presented much more nicely than the ones on Xbox Live.
I'm downloading Super Stardust HD right now as it's the only game I'm aware of that actually has trophy support in it thus far. The gamerscore bug has returned in full force, but now it's got a little golden golfer guy glued on top of it.
It's a shame MGS4 didn't launch with trophy support, that would have been the end of it. I'd probably be playing that right now, actually, instead of typing this entry.
Schteve picked up GH: Aerosmith, against both our better judgment, and he seems to be having fun with it. Whatever, at least now I can borrow it when he's done and get a thousand easy gamerscore.
There's that bug, again.
Anyway, Super Stardust HD is about done updating, so I'm off to start my trophy collection.
